Blizzard announced today that four of your lucky friends could be invited into the Heroes of the Storm beta any second now. Emails should be going out soon and some alpha/beta testers will be receiving an email full of gold... golden keys to access the game. Since that's all the news that is here, let's talk a little bit about how to get into the HotS beta. Right now, you can only get in from a random invite (requiring you to toggle the beta in your profile) that could come never or the next hour. You can buy in, but it's a little bit expensive, but worth it IMO. Now, you can get a friend to hand you one of his keys. It pays being social, because the more friends you have, the more keys you'll have as well.

Not everyone is being invited, they're testing it, and if you get a key I swear you better not eBay it because I'm sure if too many keys go up for sale, they'll either require the person cashing the key in to be a b.net friend of yours (which doesn't sound bad, but can be for some players who keep small friends lists on purpose) or not even do it.

As a way to say thank you to the community for helping us make Heroes of the Storm the best game it can possibly be throughout its Alpha and Beta phases thus far, we’ll soon be trying out a new method for sharing Closed Beta testing invitations, which will allow existing players to bring a few of their friends into the Nexus.

Essentially, a number of players will receive an email containing four Heroes of the Storm Beta Keys, which they can then give out to their friends and start brawling as a team. Initially, we’re going to send these Beta Keys out to a rather small group of playtesters. If everything goes smoothly with this trial run, we will expand this program to include many additional players over the weeks to come.

Anyway, if you want an invite, be sure to bug your friends, or hey even me, well not really I think my four are spoken for, but hey no harm no foul you all are my friends right?
