It's been confirmed by Team Liquid that the reports of AD Carry Chae "Piglet" Gwang-jin leaving the team were false, and he in fact extended his contract through next year. However, the reports that Support player Alex "Xpecial" Chu will be leaving were apparently true.

Today, the team released a video of Xpecial explaining the decision. It seems that Piglet simply didn't want to play with him anymore, feeling that Xpecial's skills had declined, and he wanted a new Support. The Team Liquid staff seemed to agree with this assessment, feeling Xpecial was not playing up to his standards. Knowing that these two players could no longer play together, Liquid investigated replacements at both the ADC and Support positions, ultimately deciding that keeping Piglet and finding a new Support (they've reportedly decided on Team Dragon Knights' Andy "Smoothie" Ta) was the best course of action.

Xpecial stated that he doesn't yet know what's next for him, but after spending time with fans recently at TwitchCon, is re-motivated to continue his playing career after a demoralizing loss to Cloud9 cost Team Liquid their chance to go to the World Championships.
