With World of Warcraft: Rage of the Firelands now live, it’s the perfect time to get some behind the scenes commentary on the Firelands. Blizzard Insider has posted an interview with Jonathan Dumont (lead level designer) and Gary Platner (lead environment artist) from the WoW dev team.

It’s a fascinating read and tracks the patch’s progress from a couple of pieces of fiery concept art to a whole new outdoor zone. It's a fascinating process and well worth checking out if you even have the slightest interest in how games are created and the processes involved. They also discuss the thorny subject of Ragnaros’ legs which is sure to be a fascinating point of discussion for anyone who killed him in Molten Core. They also look at some of the other boss fights we'll be doing and how awesome the new zone is going to be, whether you're raiding or just doing the dailies so go check it out now.
