Somewhere Between Maple
Story and WoW...Lies Mabinogi

One of the biggest surprises from GDC 2008 must be the surprising
arrival of a game called Mabinogi. Developed by the same studio that
created MapleStory, this fully 3D MMORPG was strikingly complex in it's
many mechanics, yet still maintained the sort of simplistic nature that
makes many of the kid's MMOGs so popular. Cody "Micajah" Bye explores
his thoughts on the demonstration the Ten Ton Hammer staff viewed in
his GDC '08 preview of Mabinogi!

"Honestly, as far as playing style is concerned," Chi
continued,
"Mabinogi is definitely aimed at the core MMOG demographic. The game is
a bridge between the gap of World of Warcraft and MapleStory. This is a
game for players that are looking for an intricate and deep experience
but don't want to pay that $14.99 a month for WoW."
