style="font-weight: bold;">1. Overview

Enchanted Lands is a place of
wonder, exciting vistas, and numerous dangers and challenges.  The
varied terrain and huge array of mobs guarantees that your sojourn in
this part of the Shattered Lands will not be boring.  There are
many quests to accomplish here and in adjoining zones with varying
rewards.  EL itself is divided into sections, among them Gobland,
Far Shire, South Mist, and Fay Shire.   But the primary
division comes from a high wall called the Great Guard.  This wall
is open in several spots for passage through.  On the east side of
the wall is the southeastern section, including the docks, the fay
isle, the entrance to Rivervale, the Bobick lost village grounds, the
beetle hill, the broken wizard spires, and various lower level mobs.
Beyond the wall the more dangerous mobs roam, notably goblins, lamias,
twisted fairies, and nightbloods. Also the entrance to Runnyeye is
located north of the docks beyond the wall.

2. Adjoining zones

The Enchanted Lands are reached from the
Nektulos Forest dock where there is a bell leading to EL.  Once in
EL, you can access Rivervale (-333, -277) and Runnyeye (88, -909),
which pose more of a challenge. There are also several of the small
instanced dungeons in the zone. Finally, a portal to the Obelisk of
Lost Souls will sometimes be available in the Nightblood Tower.

3. Quests

  •      First
of all, this zone is home of the Foomby's Stolen Goods heritage quest
for the Bag of Sewn Evil-Eye. It's one of the easiest and quickest HQs
to accomplish. Also a stage in the The Journey is Half the Fun
heritage quest for the Journeyman's Boots is run in this zone. One of
the required monks for the Teachings of Yoru heritage quest for the
Flowing Black Silk Sash, LoVolonus,  is found at -99, -1127. And
don't forget The Reaching Blade of the Assassin heritage quest for the Serrated Bone Dirk; although most of this
quest takes place in Rivervale and elsewhere, it does begin and end
right on the beach west of the docks.
  •      As for repeatable quests, talk to the
halfling Kelbri Mossborn who can be found in front of the dock to the
east of the steps down.  She gives out random tasks; delete until
you get the mob type you want. I recommend turtles or beetles for ease
    and quick turnaround.
  •      Progressive quests start with Deputy
Nettlebrine by the dock. These continue for several rounds with each of
several different NPCs scattered about the zone. Finding the required
places and items may be fun or frustrating; depends on what you
like.  It is a good way to familiarize yourself with the zone. In
the same vein, EL has several clickable obelisks that will give quests
to find various locations within their respective districts.
Since the locations are landmarks from the past, some are rather hard
    to locate.
  •      Talk to the scarecrow Sir Tatters (282,
-117) on the beach near the wall for a progressive type set of quests
which will culminate in final quests in Rivervale that when completed
yield some nice gear. Don't forget to see all the NPCs in the dock area
also; you won't lack for things to do.

4. Where to hunt

As now there is no level restriction
for entrance, you can get here whenever you wish to try. But be advised
that there are no mobs under level 31.  As soon as you feel up to
the challenge, try out the turtles or beetles near the docks. They
range from level 31-34. Same goes for the fairies and deer, though most
are grouped.  The rule in EL is the farther you get from the dock,
the higher level the mobs become.  So when you have gotten a few
levels under your belt, take your group out along the beach to the west
and try out the lashers (34-35) and grimmin (34-35) you find there.
Note that some mobs come in heroic version.  The most challenging
mob in EL are the Nightbloods, some of which are level 40 heroic.
Here is a breakdown on some of the mobs you can find in the zone:

  • Badgers - level 32 non aggro
  • Sand and Salt snappers levels 31-34 non aggro
  • Fairies - levels 31-34 a few aggro
  • Deer - levels 31-33 non aggro

  • Seeds (globules) levels 35-36 aggro; some heroic
  • Creepers level 36 aggro; some heroic

  • Lamias levels 36-38 most aggro; some heroic

5. Collections

The Enchanted Lands, along with Rivervale and
Runnyeye, has a sought-after collection quest for maple leaves which
when turned in yield a large collector's pouch, a 24-slot bag. The
local coin finds are coins of Rivervale; these are found in RV and RE
as well. Also found in this zone are Pristine, Shiny and Glowing
Shards, and Unscathed and Enchanted bone fragments. Common node spawns
are near the fairies and wizard spires or by the beetles.
