Chapter One - The Basics

A Fury is a subclass of the Druid line of priests. Druids call upon the forces of Nature to assist them in battle. The two subclasses are Warden and Fury; of the two, a Fury is by far the more damage-oriented.  This means that although a Fury is still a healer, they concentrate more on direct damage to the mobs. They are still very good healers;  Furies use the Heal over Time (HoT) as their main line of defense, backed up by instant heals. Also the Fury gets some nice buffs to put on self and group members; some activate weapon procs; some are damage shields; some are for quicker power regen. Agility and Strength buffs will make your friendly tank your buddy for life.  A movement speed buff for the group and a group invisibility spell make a Fury much sought-after at higher levels.

If you plan to start a Fury, be aware that the class is neutral; you can start a Fury as any race.  Of course, if you want for instance an Ogre Fury to live in Qeynos, you will still have to betray.  Your choice of race matters only in the early going; by the time you have gotten your character to level 20 there really isn't a lot of difference; stats on equipment will help make up for any low numbers.  Your stat of choice is Wisdom; this raises your power pool and helps to reduce fizzles as it increases.

Your
class can only wear light armor (leather); this can be a disadvantage but if you
raise your agility (though not at the cost of wisdom) it will help
somewhat.  Remember, a Fury in a group can very easily peel aggro from the
main tank.  And when you are soloing, the less times you get hit (and
interrupted casting a spell) the better.  But overall the Fury is a very
good class to play; they solo well and are excellent in groups.  Tanks love
the buffs they provide, and of course the heals.  And if you are in a group
with a strong healer like a Templar or a Warden, and your heals are not needed,
you can switch over to offensive tactics. Some of your nukes are quite
respectable;  Strike of Thunder/Strike of Storms is your premier direct
damage spell.
