Tenebrous Tangle

Sounds like something all tentacled and grabby, rather like the Tangle Trees from Piers Anthony's Xanth books. But, no, although no less fun and exciting. Tenebrous Tangle is the first zone of Kingdom of Sky. It's a series of islands, the first of which is called The Temple Grounds.

The Temple
Grounds

Coincidently there are temples on this main island. You'll appear and meet the nice little owly guy who hangs out near the spires that port you back to Norrath. Then you pass through the arch (alas no mistletoe, Frostfell is over people!) and out into the island proper. Straight ahead there's a river and it's got the usual massive insect life looking for people to suck dry. No worries though, they aren't aggro. They manage to
kill good ol' Radar though. Invisible, higher level,
does any of THAT matter? Nooo SoE
programs these things to be Anti-Radar
machines like out of some futuristic
terminator movie. They kill me, take my
lunch money and hang my under pants up
the flag pole.....not that I'm bitter. Moving
on.

There are also a bunch of dorf eating plants that live along the stream. If you follow the water up hill, you'll run into the cute little winged lizard people. They can smoosh a dorf in record time. It's rather fun to watch. Off to the right, there's a pyramid that looks like the ones in Cazic. Straight ahead is the Temple of the Scale. There are still dorf shaped indentions in the walls and floors where Radar studied the lovely stone work up close.

Back at the beginning, if you go straight from the pool at the foot of the stream and keep to the left, there's another dungeon called the Sanctum of the Scaleborn. This one isn't as big and scary as the Temple . Radar only died a few times here and there are just smudges and a few stray beard hairs.

There are cloud platforms in four locations on this island. The first is right near the entrance, which incidentally, is also where you spawn should you die. To the right of this along a narrow land bridge and surrounded by the cute winged dragon people, is another which will take you to the Vultak Scavenging Site. If you continue up the ridge past the Sanctum, you'll find another that takes you to the Bixie Isle and to the Ravasect Incursion Point. Near the pyramid before the Sanctum you'll find the fourth which will take you to Gazer Isle.

Vultak Scavenging Site

This island is a good deal smaller than The Temple Grounds. Which makes sense since it isn't the main island and all. Filled with a bunch of harpies on steroids, this island centers around a rocky peak. At the top of this peak, is a big scary critter by the name of Car'rion. There's also a portal to one of the other zones in Kingdom of Sky called the Barren Sky. There's also a cloud you can ride to the Fear Tainted Isle.

I'm still trying to figure out what a Vultak is....

Bixie Isle

Remember the Bixies from the Drafling Tower in Rivervale? Well they're back. And they still like the taste of dorf meat just as much as ever. This isle has a nice craterish feel to it. The center part is where most of the action is and its surrounded by nice high walls. For the faint of heart *coughRadarcough* you can stick to the walls to wander around safely. You can also fight your way through the center and out a passage way to the other side. There's not a lot to see, but there are a LOT of Bixies just dying to meet you. Once you've taken the beating here, the cloud station will take you back to the Temple Grounds or to the Ravasect Incursion Point.

Ravasect
Incursion Point

Ravasect Incursion Point

Can you say praying mantis the size of a barbarian? Yeah. Bust out the big can of Raid for this place. There are a bunch of very big, very ugly bugs wandering about here. It has the same basic crater layout as the Bixie Isle, and right when you enter the bowl of the crater, there's a portal to the Bonemire. The cloud will take you to the Temple Grounds , back to the Bixie Isle, or to Gazer Isle.

Fear Tainted
Isle

This is one of the two bestest islands. It has the crater design working for it as well, but it's a might larger than the others. And right when you land are all these really adorable three-legged tentacle headed things. They're the cutest things on three legs. There are some more dorf eating plants, and then best of all, there are the Cthulu headed guys from Cazic. At the very back of the island up against a crater wall, and relatively safe after you've fought your way through everything else, is a named octopus headed guy. But, he wouldn't talk to me so I have no idea what he wants. Probably some fresh ink. From here, you can go back to the Vultak island or you can go to Gazer Isle.

style="margin: 5px; padding: 5px;" border="0">

Gazer Isle

Alright, I admit it. I'm totally biased. I saved my favourite island for last. Gazer Isle follows the same crater pattern, with the high walls and the valley in the center. It's also larger like the Fear Tainted Isle. But what makes this the best island ever… Babies! Yes, babies. Little tiny baby evil eyes floating around looking all cute and rawr. And baby fairies like the ones in Enchanted Lands. And little tiny baby beholders with their little eye stalks all wavy around and cute. Yeah sure, they all want to kill you and eat you, they especially like dwarven Templars, but they're totally the cutest things I've seen yet in the Kingdom of Sky . And no, it has nothing to do with being a dark elf, thank you very much.

Hidden Refuge
Isle

This one can be summed up pretty easily. Frogs. Tons of them everywhere like the plague in Egypt! Ok, well, there is a camp of them.

According to Blackguard, this was one of the few friendly islands we would find in Kingdom of Sky. I personally found the Freeport NPC's to be mean in a "Insult your mother, and make you want to cry" way. I'm drinking milk and one day they are going to be sorry. Anyway, there are a few quests to be done here and I wouldn't be suprised if a merchant showed up at some point. There is nothing aggressive on the island so this would be a great place for an AFK (Away From Keyboard) if you need one.

Breeding

Grounds

This evil infested isle, is dedicated to the sole purpose of breeding drakes. The island crawls with them and their dragoniness (yes I made that word up). if they aren't enough to satisfy your bloodlust, find the lookout posts of the aviaks. They don't like flash photography, tourists....well I think people in general. I'm sure they will be more than willing to give you a run for your money if you are looking for a fight.
