Big Huge Games, a subsidiary of Curt Schillings 38 Studios, looks to be
in the process of creating a single player console game set to take
place in the Copernicus
universe. The team will be using
modifying Ken Rolstons [i]Ascendant[/] game into this version for the
PS3 according to a piece on Kokatu today. The was initial speculation
that Copernicus might be released on PC and console platforms.

Here is an excerpt from that article:

cellspacing="0" width="100%">
style="border: 1px inset ;"> 38
Studios has put up job listings for a Senior PS3 Programmer and a Lead
Art Director to work on a RPG for the PS3

Update:
These listings are for 38's newly acquired subsidiary
Big Huge Games. They are working on transforming the Ken Rolston-led
rpg — formerly Ascendant — into a single-player
console
role-playing-game set in the same universe as the Project Copernicus
MMO for the PC. In short, the console versions seem to take place in
the same universe as the PC version
