GamesIndustry.biz recently got the chance to speak with Funcom CEO Trond Arne Aas about the company's future plans. Funcom has undergone cost-cutting measures over the last year and Aas explains how the they have adjusted to the changes and reduction in staff. He also goes on to explain Funcom's future casual gaming project focus such as that handled by their new subsidiary Sweet Robot with Pets vs Monsters, but he also emphasizes that the company will remain competitive in its major MMOGs such as Age of Conan.

I think you'll also see a larger portion of our investments going into those smaller projects than we have done currently and in the past - but we still think we have a unique competitive advantage in the high-end space... we just have to make sure we take the current market conditions into consideration when we develop our products in that space.
