Ankama Games has announced a new publishing agreement with Square Enix to bring its upcoming free-to-play tactical MMORPG, Wakfu, to North America. Dofus, another game from Ankama, exists in the same universe as Wakfu; however, Wakfu is set 1000 years in the future. Wakfu is part of the Ankama Games approach to transmedia universe and also has a cartoon based on the series in France. Square Enix has not announced the release date for Wakfu or if it will be bringing other forms of Wakfu media to North America.
