Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida took some time to post a new "Producer's Letter" following the recent disaster in Japan and the temporary suspension of FFXI and FFXIV service. The letter offers a heartfelt thank you for the support shown by the FFXIV community and also offers some good news to the effect that all of the FFXIV team members have been contacted and they are safe. Unfortunately, some do have family members in some of the more more impacted regions.

Due to the ongoing power conservation efforts and the disruption in public transportation, work on the upcoming FFXIV 1.16a and 1.17 updates have unsurprisingly been delayed by at least two weeks.

Our best wishes go out to the all those affected in Japan. If you would like to donate to the relief efforts, you can visit the Red Cross website or a charitable relief site of your choice. CCP has also launched a new PLEX for Good donation drive for Japan that EVE Online players can donate to.
