Trion World has posted a nice weekend update for some of their planned changes for RIFT. The devs have quite a bit on the books for the next update and beyond ranging from class balances to PvP, crafting and even a few tweaks to Expert Dungeon encounters. Warriors, mages, rogues and clerics have each been given its own thread with a list of possible updates to come for some of the Souls in its line.

style="font-style: italic;">Trion serves up a helping of future RIFT changes in weekend update.

The warrior Souls Void Knight and Warlord will be getting some love, but one of the hotter topics (no pun intended) is the upcoming pyromancer changes, particularly the one relating to Ground of Strength to bring it more into line with intended balance. Watch the forums folks, there's going to be a fire. You can also expect to see pure class builds get some love to make them just as desrable as hybrids.

The devs also outlined some proposed PvP changes that sound like they could be a lot of fun. Among those are weekend events, open world PvP events, alternate game modes in warfronts and PvP leaderboards and statistics. But it's not all fun and games, some balance changes have been ideas are being tossed around for crowd control (CC) skills, which could tweak diminishing returns or add a new skill to the PvP Souls, which would break a CC hold and make the user immune to another effect for a short time to avoid being chain CCed. Players should see some improvements for rewards as well, including a boost to PvP gear to bring them in line with Tier 1 and Tier 2 dungeons.

Trion has some interesting ideas in store for crafters. If you're like me, you've probably been doing the top tier daily craft quest each day since launch. And if you're luck is as bad as mine, you still only have just 1 plaque and are patiently waiting for that second so that you can finally buy an epic recipe. Luckily, relief is on the way with weekly quests tied to rifts. Additionally, a wider variety of crafting items should soon be available, particularly for Armorsmiths.
