Trion Worlds launched their first title in 2011 with RIFT, which managed to generate more than $100 million in revenue and saw over 1 million accounts created in just the first four months of the game’s operation. The success recently helped net Trion Worlds acquire an additional $85 million in new funding.

RIFT kicked off its Return event yesterday, welcoming both new and old players back to the game to check out all the latest content. But what you see now will be growing quite a bit according to Scott Hartsman. Speaking with MMORPG.com, Hartsman discussed Trion Worlds’ content-rich plans for the future of RIFT. Some of the coming content includes PvP changes, Soul System tweaks, improvements to the social aspects of the game and crafting system changes.

2012 will be an interesting year for Trion Worlds as they move forward with their other projects – Defiance, the Petroglyph developed End of Nations and their Red Door platform. You can read more from Scott Hartsman in his full MMORPG interview.
