BioWare has been a bit unpredictable with their update release schedule for Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR). Following a rather hefty drop off in subscribers that prompted the games upcoming move into the free-to-play market, some players have been skeptical of claims that the developer would be delivering more frequent updates. But BioWare Austin GM Matt Bromberg is vowing to do just that. Speaking with AusGamers, Bromberg discussed how BioWare will try to get former players to return to the game, and committed to a major update for the MMORPG every six weeks going forward.
Well were committed to: about every six weeks, doing a major update for the game -- which would be a new Warzone, a new Operation, a new Flashpoint, a new event -- and to doing that on a really frequent cadence, every six weeks. So were going to stick to that.
The next update for SWTOR, 1.4: Terror from Beyond, recently hit PTS but currently still has no release date. Previous updates have had a bit of a staggered release with 1.1: Rise of the Rakghouls arriving in January, less than a month after the official launch, 1.2: Legacy followed in April and 1.3: Allies arrived in June.
