Last year at this time, Test Drive Unlimited 2 developer Eden Games was protesting parent company Atari’s decision to layoff almost 2/3 of its staff. Nearly one year to the day since that report, Atari has revealed that it now looking to sell off Eden Games and its remaining assets as part of their plan to cut financial losses. Atari offloaded Cryptic Studios to Perfect World last year for a reported $49.8 million and has also sold off its remaining stake in the French television channel GameOne to Viacom.

Initial reports from some news sources seemed to indicate that Eden Games had been closed, but Atari has informed Gamasutra that a small team is still working at the studio to actively maintain Test Drive Unlimited 2.
