Things just keep getting worse for The War Z. After an almost legendary stumble with the Steam launch that prompted the titles removal from the platform and an eventual apology letter from Executive Producer Sergey Titov, 2013 is off to a rough start as well. A pair of DDOS attacks hit The War Z this week and prevented players from logging in.

Guys over the last few days we have been under attack by various forums of malicious attempts to shut down our servers. First we were hit with an attack that would rest our DNS IP so that you could not connect. This was solved a couple days ago early in the morning but took time to actually resolve world wide once the fix went in.

This morning we are being hit, again, with a DDOS attack on our login server. We are implementing additional DDoS protection and hope to have this resolved asap. Unfortunately with these types of attacks it is very difficult to give a good time frame of when it will be resolved.

Unfortunately, after fixing that problem a coding issue started kicking players out of the game. This issue was addressed for everyone but Steam players, who may have to wait until later today for a solution.

Ok guys here is the deal on Steam. Our fixes should have worked but they did not (and I am really sorry about that). We have no alternative to seek help directly from steam and have requested this from them. Unfortunately, they may not get back to us until tomorrow in the afternoon worst case scenario. However, I am going to try and cut some corners and see what can be done to get something sooner. Just note it is very unlikely to happen. I apologize steam users 6:02pm PST.
