Runic Games had a sleeper hit on their hands with the original Torchlight action RPG when it launched back in 2009. The title eventually mustered over one million sold copies and a port to the Xbox 360, so a sequel was inevitable. Though Runic Games was somewhat weary about shipping Torchlight II in the same year as Diablo III, it doesn’t seem to have hurt the action RPG. Since its launch last September, Torchlight II has already managed to surpass the sales of Torchlight in less time with over one million sold copies.

Suffice to say, Runic Games is enjoying a nice start to 2013.

If you're looking to give the game a try, Steam's Holiday Sale is still available with 50% off of Torchlight II, putting the price at $9.99.
