WildStar Wednesday has arrived once again and this week Content Designer Kristen “Caydiem” DeMeza reveals a special type of mission that players will have the chance to undertake during the leveling process – Shiphand Missions. This special mission utilizes one of the common themes of space travel – bad things happen in space. Players will have a chance to take on a number of different Shiphand Missions in WildStar, which will have them board a ship for some random destination to help solve an assortment of problems.

"You’ll find shiphands occasionally as you work your way across Nexus. A concerned pilot will be milling about by their away ship, seeking out pioneers to help them with some disaster that’s happened offworld. Take the quest, board their ship, and you’ll be whisked away to somewhere completely different to troubleshoot – which probably means literally shooting the trouble. Shiphands play like extended, sequential quests. You uncover the problems as you move through the ship and fix ‘em up. Shiphands have optional objectives if you want to go above and beyond, too – and that grateful Ekose captain at the end of the road will definitely take note of your efforts."

These missions can scale to accommodate groups of up to five players or as few as one. Shiphand Missions are repeatable if you need or want to do them again and some embody random elements to keep things interesting. While offering a challenge for groups to engage in, Shiphand Missions are not meant to be as challenging as dungeons but rather to offer a fun little experience lasting between 15-45 minutes.
