Warlords of Draenor Adventurers Guide Banner

World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor is going to bring with it several new features. One of those features that should be very well received by both new and old players is the Adventurer's Guide.

Warlords of Draenor - Adventurer's Guide

This new feature was displayed at BlizzCon 2013 and described by the developers. Let's start with the basics, what it is.

The Adventurer's Guide is a feature that keeps you informed on what content is the best content for your character at that time. It then displays that information in a very graphical format.

Warlords of Draenor - Adventurer's Guide Information Shown

From the above example you can see that the screen shows some key information:

  • An image of your player and their current item level
  • The best three places to find gear upgrades, this can be instances, raids, or as shown above a crafted item.
  • Your current gear progression ladder along the bottom of the screen. This shows places that may still have some minor upgrades (green border), current ideal upgrades (yellow border), and best upgrades but very difficult content (orange and red borders).

Warlords of Draenor - Adventurer's Guide Dynamic Suggestions

The Adventurer;s Guild makes its suggestions based on several different things. While as you can imagine it is heavily based on your current level (while leveling up) and then gear and item level when you are max level, it also looks at some other items.

Some of those other items that this tool looks at when making suggestions are as follows:

  • Your play style, meaning that if you focus on PVE then it makes PVE suggestions. If you participate in PVP then it will suggest what PVP content is the best place for you to find upgrades.
  • It also looks at new quest areas, patch content, profession upgrades, as they are released so that you are aware of them easily even if you missed the patch notes.
  • Will point out items that you may have missed otherwise.
  • Is based on each character you have. Therefore if you have many alts and forget what you should be doing to progress on that character, this provides a very easy way to check. It also means that if you PVP on one character and PVE on another, each will provide the correct recommendations.

Warlords of Draenor Adventurer's Guide - Comments

I am sure there will be a lot more information coming out on the Adventurer's Guide, but even so far it looks like a very useful tool for old and new players alike. Old players will likely find it helpful tracking what they need to do on their many alts, while new players will find it useful pointing them from zone to zone while leveling.
