Champions Online Launches Whiteout Issue 5: Above and Beyond

Posted Tue, Dec 20, 2011 by Martuk

Champions Online has released Issue 5: Above and Beyond of its Whiteout comic series. The latest installment pits players against the Roin’esh, who have retrieved an alien artifact and boarded the alien craft in Canada. Players will need to board the ship and retrieve the artifact before it falls into the wrong hands.

If you’re looking for a little extra kick while taking on mysterious aliens from another galaxy, Champions Online’s latest archetype may be just what you need. The new archetype aptly titled The Unleashed bears an amazing resemblance to a Star Wars Force sensitive class, more specifically, he looks a lot like a Sith. He even wields two laser-like bladed weapons and has abilities that include Force Shield, Force Snap and Force Geyser.

The archetype is described as a Cosmic Knight, Militant Monk, Dark Inquisitor, Eldritch Warrior, Mysterious Visitor and in tune with the universe in ways few can understand. Sounds very Sith and/or Jedi doesn't it? With Star Wars: The Old Republic now live, the devs at Cryptic seem to be dabbling in the ways of the Force as this class sounds very Star Wars inspired and likely Cryptic having a good ribbing of the competition. So if you’ve wanted a dose of a very Star Wars feel in Champions Online, The Unleashed may be just what you’re looking for.
