Dean “Rocket” Hall managed to create quite a hit with his DayZ mod for Arma II: Combined Operations. The success of zombie survival mod filled with zombies and trigger-happy players inspired Hall to create a full standalone version of the game. Hall recently released a new video with some of the first early gameplay footage of DayZ. While some things such as the use of the inventory system UI have been edited out, the video does show some of the gear that players can wear for distinctive appearances, environmental graphics, and how players will need to scavenge an area for survival items and loot.

The video clocks in at just under 15 minutes. Give it a look below and tell us what you think.
