Rogues are an integral part of
Dungeons
and Dragons Online. Unlike
other MMOs, the rogue is a versatile, useful, and sought after
companion in
DDO.
Rogues have a multitude of builds to choose from,
each emphasizing a different role and style of gameplay. Today,
we’re showcasing a
DDO
rogue build built for backstabbing and
DPS. Do you want to strike from the shadows, killing enemies with a
single blow? Do you want to let your meat-headed companions attack your
foes from the front while you slip behind them and tickle their kidneys
with your blades? If you wish to be a nightmare of melee punishment for
the monsters of Eberron, then look no further, my friends, as the DPS
Backstabber build is for you.
Disclaimer:
As always, this
build does not represent the uber min/max
build that will lift you from the gutters to Mount Olympus. Feel free
to make changes to suit your play style and likes/dislikes. This build
is meant to only be a starting point, and always remember the point of
playing is to have fun.
DDO Rogue Build: DPS
Backstabber
The main thrust of this build is to maximize the damage dealt by you
from your sneak attack. Every odd level of rogue gives you an
additional 1d6 damage to your sneak attack damage. You can increase
this sneak attack damage through various enhancements. Please note that
all levels are Rogue levels.

Even doing good DPS, you still
got to get past traps.
Race: Halfling
While Halflings get a strength penalty at character creation, they gain
access to two enhancement line: Halfling Guile and Halfling Cunning,
both of which enhance sneak attacks. Plus, Halflings are cool.
Alignment: Neutral Good
By choosing the Neutral Good alignment, you can use Pure Good weapons.
By the time you hit the level cap, you will easily be able to bypass
any restrictions on other weapons by your Use Magic Device (UMD) skill.
