There’s a bit of unfortunate news for female players today that might have been looking forward to Capcom’s intriguing PlayStation 4 co-op RPG Deep Down. Dual Shocker recently translated part of a PS4 Lab livestream on Nico Nico featuring Deep Down Producer Kazunori Sugiura. The good news is that the stream yielded a few new tidbits such as a divided multi-chapter story mode, remote play with the PS Vita, and additional weapons that will be added post-launch. As for the bad news, it comes in two parts. Sugiura was unable to confirm a release window and the more unfortunate part is that there will apparently be no female characters in Deep Down due to some unspecified story reasons. We’ll have to wait and see what those story reasons are.

If you’re curious to see what new footage is available for Deep Down, Dual Shockers spent some time salvaging the video for all six of the gameplay bits in the Livestream, so head over and give them a look to see what Deep Down is all about.

While Deep Down currently has no US release window, it is expected to release in Japan sometime after the summer.
