In case you missed the news, Defiance officially rolled out the launch gate yesterday on three different platforms – PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Defiance, like any other newly launch MMOG, has several launch growing pains to work out and some serious issues hampering the community building element on the PC. Most notably, the poorly designed text and voice chat systems, which the two currently rate somewhere between here and here on our Nicolas Cage Pain-o-Meter.

Luckily, the agonizing pain of trying to converse with friends and strangers in Defiance will, hopefully, be resolved soon according to a State of the Game post from Executive Producer Nathan Richardsson, who listed out a number of things that the team will be improving in the coming days and weeks such as connectivity issues, problems with missing pre-order items, fixing the scaling issues with bosses and Arkfalls, and, of course, getting that wretched chat system up to speed.

Richardsson explained that this is not the only list of items currently in the works, and the team has a number of other issues either fixed or being fixed for a future update gathered from the forums and through feedback submissions, a number of which he also responds to in the discussion thread.
