Syfy's Defiance Gets More Cast Members
Syfy and Trion Worlds find more of the cast for the upcoming television show tie-in to the MMOG, Defiance.
The Defiance television show has found more of its cast this week. The Syfy television show that will tie into the Trion Worlds MMOG of the same name has cast Julie Benz and Jamie Murray, who appeared in the second season of Showtimes Dexter. Also joining the cast is Stephanie Leonidas (MirrorMask) and Tony Curran (Pillars of the Earth, X-Men First Class).
Benz and Murray join Grant Bowler, who signed on as the Defiance lead back in January. Benz has been cast to portray Amanda Rosewater, the mayor of a mining town while Murray will play the wife of Datak Tarr, an alien elite played by Curran.
Defiance will begin production next month and is being developed in coordination with Trion Worlds, who is developing the Defiance MMOG. The television show and MMOG will have a somewhat symbiotic relationship with events in one influencing events in the other. No release date for the game or premier for the show has been announced as of yet.
