EverQuest II GU66: Scars of the Awakened Coming in April

Posted Tue, Mar 12, 2013 by Martuk

EverQuest II (EQII) is getting a beefy new update next month that will continue the Velious saga with Game Update 66: Scars of the Awakened (GU66). Producer Holly Longdale penned a new Producer’s Letter today to discuss what’s in store for the update and when players can expect it to arrive in Norrath.

GU66 is slated to release on April 30 and will see the united Norrathian forces marching under the unified New Combine army banner into the region of Cobalt Scar. And already I’m having flashbacks to hunting hordes of ‘a wyvern’ mobs in the original EQ with a druid friend but I digress. The update will hold new challenges for players in Cobalt Scar and old school EQers will also have a chance to live new terrors in the Siren’s Grotto dungeon.

In addition to the new dungeon, new quests will be available in Cobalt Scar that will tell the tale of the Awakened Legion and the terror known as Kerafyrm. There will also be new solo, heroic, and raid challenges, additional collections and tradeskill questlines, new items, and more.

Additional details about the update will be revealed in the coming weeks with beta testing expected to begin on April 2nd. GU66 is expected to hit live servers on April 30th, 2013.
