SOE Reveals SOEmote Facial and Voice Feature for EverQuest II

Posted Fri, Jun 01, 2012 by Martuk

SOE is looking to take immersion up a notch in EverQuest II with the reveal of SOEmote, a new facial recognition and voice tech that will track your facial movements and expression and translate them on your character within the game. The voice feature will also animate your character while you talk and even alter your voice to sound like you character if you want.

SOE announced the new feature in a press release earlier today, but PC Gamer has a new interview with EverQuest franchise Director of Development David Georgeson all about SOEmote. Check out the full article and video for more about how this new feature will work.

lol! Now, that is cool, but I can't see it working very well. Still neat that they'd try it.
