EVE Fanfest 2014 takes place next month in Reykjavik, Iceland and it’s shaping up to be one of CCP’s biggest events since EVE Online’s launch over a decade ago. The annual event serves as a gathering for the EVE Online community with alliance and corporation members from all over the world setting aside their feuds for a night of fun, parties, dev panels, discussions, and the notorious pub crawls.

This year CCP has quite a bit planned for the three days of EVE Fanfest with the latest news and reveals for the future of EVE Online, its MMOFPS tie-in DUST 514, the upcoming Oculus Rift supported EVE Valkyrie, and maybe even a little something for World of Darkness. CCP is even constructing a monument in honor of the developers and players that helped shape EVE Online in its first decade.

Not everyone can afford the time off or cost for a three-day trip to Iceland, so for those stuck at home there is an alternative thanks to the technological miracle of online streaming. CCP today revealed details for the streaming options available for this year’s EVE Fanfest event. Fans can watch the standard stream for free on CCP’s Twitch channel, but a high definition version will be available with a few additional perks for $19.99. Both streams will provide viewers with access to CCP broadcast panels, PvP tournaments, the “Make EVE Real” science lecture, and you can even watch the Party at the Top of the World as well as other events.

CCP will be live streaming the tenth EVE Fanfest in standard definition for free on their Twitch.TV channel (http://twitch.tv/ccp/ ) and in high definition for a one-time fee of $19.95 USD or one PLEX (which can be obtained on the EVE Online in-game market). Viewers will get the latest announcements from CCP through broadcasted panels, presentations, PvP tournament coverage, the “Make EVE Real” science lectures, and the famous Party at the Top of the World amongst other unannounced events. All programming is highly produced and includes commentary and interviews from developers and players in the true EVE community spirit.

If you opt for the HD version you’ll also gain a few other perks that include HD streaming for all three days, access to the pre-Fanfest CCP livestream with exclusive details for the event on April 24th, digital copies of the Fanfest 2014 Quafe t-shirt for EVE Online, subscriber-only giveaways and chat emotes during the stream, and you can choose one of four unique industry ship skins for EVE Online: the Inner Zone Shipping Iteron (Gallente), Tash-Murkon Bestower (Amarr), Nefantar Mammoth (Minmatar) or Wiyrkomi Tayra (Caldari).

You can opt to purchase the HD version through CCP or Twitch.TV, but if you want the special in-game promo items you’ll need to purchase through EVE Online’s account management system. So keep that in mind if you decide to pay for the HD version if you want all of the extras.

EVE Fanfest 2014 takes place from Thursday, May 1, 2014 through Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Harpa Conference Centre in Reykjavik, Iceland. Additional details about the event can be found on the EVE Fanfest 2014 website.
