Love is in the air in game and in real life! Valentine's Day is incoming and it is time to tell that special someone in your life how much they mean to you. Finding that perfect gift can be a long, difficult process. While flowers, chocolates, and poems are traditional gifts, if your sweetheart happens to be a gamer, you may want to give them a gift that resonates with their inherent love of games.

Not exactly sure what to buy? No problem! Check out the following suggestions for Valentine's Day gifts that are sure to make your gamer's heart throb.

Clothing

Gaming related clothing is big business these days. Where even just 10 years ago you may have only found a few places catering to this crowd, now you can literally find thousands. It doesn't really matter if you are Horde or Alliance, Night Elf or Orc, there is a piece of clothing out there that will allow you to rep your set. Game Time

Not sure what your Valentine is into but still want to feed their love of games? Why not purchase some World of Warcraft game time? Cards for game time can be picked up at tons of stores and can also be gifted using the Battle.Net Shop. Game time can be purchased for 30, 90, and 180 days, meaning that you can purchase as much or as little as you want based on your budget. While purchasing virtual game time may seem impersonal, it will likely make any WoW fan incredibly happy. Players gotta play, after all.

Mounts/Pets

I think it is safe to say that most WoW players enjoy pets and mounts. So why not gift one to that someone special? You can choose to purchase them from the Blizzard Store, Ebay, or farm them yourself. Either way, a new mount or pet is sure to bring a smile to the face of the person receiving it. Not to mention, that every time they pop out the pet or mount up, they will inevitably think of you. Just be sure to check and make sure that the person doesn't already have that particular pet/mount before you make your purchase or spend hours farming!

Mice, Keyboards, and Headsets. Oh My!

Odds are that the WoW player in your life is rather hard on all three of these things. If they are like me, the finish is wearing off their keyboard, not all of the buttons may work, and their headset is duct taped together. Replacing or upgrading any of these items for your WoW darling would likely be much appreciated.

Do a bit of research online to find just the right item or if you can be subtle, ask the target of your affections which they would prefer. Purchasing this type of gift is great for people who don't know the difference between a Tauren and a Gnome, but still want to impress the gamer in their life.

Themed Card

While giving out actual Valentine's may be something you haven't done since elementary school, it is time to get back into the habit. This time though, we are going to take it up a notch. Cheesy premade cards from Walmart just won't do. Instead create your own.

If you have art skills, draw your character or model it using a 3D program. If you are like me and have the art skills of a 2 year old, don't worry! Take a picture from in game that means something special to the person you love. It could be a picture of a special place, event, or even just a picture of your characters together.

After you have collected the perfect picture, create your own card the old fashioned way (with paper, markers, glitter, etc.) or use a service like Shutterfly to create your card for you. Add a catchy phase like “I've Got the H.O.T.S 4 U” and your Valentine will be complete!

While the above gifts focus on World of Warcraft (because that is my jam), they could easily translate into most other games or other holidays. So get out there and get shopping for the gamer you love! Valentine's Day is just around the corner! Do you have any gaming related Valentine's Day gift suggestions that don't appear above?
