Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (FFXIV) Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida recently posted his latest Producer’s Letter to discuss the first major content update since the official relaunch with 2.1: A Realm Awoken. The update is expected to release within the next two weeks, adding three extreme primal battles, new Ultima Weapon battles, the Crystal Tower, Wolves’ Den, and more. Expect a new trailer for the update to release by the weekend.

PlayStation 4 (PS4) players itching for a chance to explore Eorzea on the new console will have their chance to do so early next year. Beta is expected to begin for the PS4 on February 22, 2014 with the official launch to follow in April. Yoshida will talk in greater detail about the PS4 version and preview the 2.1 update in his December 14th Live Letter from the Producer, so stay tuned.

Details and times for that livestream will be posted closer to the event. In the meantime, you can read a transcript or watch the video of the previous livestream on the FFXIV website.
