Free Wed-Sun on Steam plus a 75% off discount to celebrate the new patch and DLC
CARSLBAD, CA (April 24, 2013) -- Dark Vale Games, an independent video game developer based in Southern California, has rereleased their hit multiplayer PC game, Forge, today! To celebrate, the competitive PvP game will be free on Steam from the 24th-28th, along with a 75%-off discount ($5 for a single key, $20 for four keys) offered to players that want to buy the game. By adding key features requested by players, the rerelease of Forge presents players with an entirely new PvP experience that is sure to thrill gamers!
WHY THE RERELEASE?
Forge originally launched in December 2012 as part of Steam’s Greenlight program. As an indie PvP game, it was crucial for Dark Vale Games to launch Forge before funding dried up rather than delaying to add additional features and content.
“We know we launched way too early, but our funding was finite,” said Dave Domm, CEO of Dark Vale Games. “Forge contained key core elements of the game we wanted to ship with, but it was still missing a polished new player experience, rankings, and other key content. Fortunately, our awesome community stuck with us and our initial sales funded the entirety of all the features we knew we needed to have in the game to make it feel complete. The result is this new rerelease – Forge is an incredibly polished, PvP experience now and we hope players join us again to celebrate all we’ve accomplished!”
Along these lines, Forge developers posted a dev diary update on their site outlining what went right and what went wrong. You can access it here: http://www.playforgewar.com/category/development-diary/
The exciting, new features for the rerelease include:
Swappable armor pieces that add all new levels of character customization
New maps filled with hiding spots and awesome environmental effects
Rankings let players compete for ultimate glory
Customize your character’s attacks with 30 unlockable, “focus” attack variants
Steam Achievements satisfy competitive perfectionists
Completely new tutorial gets new players up to speed quickly
Bots and co-op modes let players test and perfect new strategies
Server browsing, private servers, and matchmaking let you compete against the best
Overhauled UI and menus make the game more navigable than ever

FREE DLC FOR THE RERELEASE
Free DLC launching alongside the rerelease gives players access to an all new, 6th character called The Ravager. The Ravager adds a much needed melee focused character class to the mix, letting players deal fast paced, close ranged damage to their foes. With his unique grappling hook, he can rope in players from afar or dart through the air across the map with ninja like speed and grace!
Forge is an independently developed multiplayer PvP (player vs. player) game for PC that brings an FPS style targeting system to the world of strategic player-vs-player competition you see in massively multiplayer online games. Players use reflexes and aim to annihilate opponents while also leveraging the strategy of their MMO-style abilities to decide how to attack and defend in different scenarios. Teamwork is crucial as each different character close has a specific role in the battle.
In FORGE, a malicious being named The Devourer has swallowed the great pantheon of gods. Seeking escape, the trapped gods turn great warriors into zealous adherents and place them on a faceless world called FORGE, where every champion’s death feeds the immortals power.
