A Voice in the Wilderness is one of Destiny’s Exotic weapon bounties that awards players with the Exotic machine gun “Super Good Advice”. Like all exotic bounties, there is no direct way to pick it up; you will randomly receive the chance to select it from a list of three when the bounty vendor is feeling generous.

The gun itself is a heavy hitter and has the added benefit of dealing bonus solar damage, which makes it perfect for demolishing hive.

If you’ve already completed an exotic bounty you will be familiar with the multistep process they require. A Voice in the Wilderness is by far one of the easiest to complete as you can see from the steps outlined below.

Step 1: Find a Mournful/ Recalcitrant Gun

Step 2: Bring the Gun to the Gunsmith in the Tower

Easy enough. Take a trip to the Tower’s Gunsmith and turn in your Mournful/ Recalcitrant gun to receive either a “Pleased” or a “Mournful” machine gun. When you have it in your hands it’s off to see Xur.

Step 3: Buy an Ammunition Module from Xur

This step may take you the longest not because it is difficult, but because Xur only hangs out in the Tower from Friday to Sunday. When he does finally arrive, make sure you have the 1 Strange Coin that it will take to purchase the Ammunition Module. Buy it and you’re done this step!

Step 4: Kill 500 Enemies with a Machine Gun

Enough running around collecting, it’s time to get into the action. To complete this step you’ve got to get 500 kills with any Machine Gun. It’s also worth noting that precision kills with a machine gun will count as 3 towards your total, so aim for the head. Another important note is that making a kill with a Rocket Launcher while the bounty is active will deduct 5 points from your total, keep that thing holstered.

Your best bet to complete this step is to pick a strike or mission with a lot of easy to kill units like Dregs or Thrall. You should also consider investing in some heavy ammo synthesis if you have the cash to keep the points coming.

Step 5: Return to the Gunsmith

Now that you’ve slaughtered enough enemies it’s time to collect your reward, a gun perfect for slaughtering enemies. Return to the gunsmith and you will be rewarded with one of the games finest Machine Guns, Super Good Advice!
