Overview

Lord Knossos is without question one of the strongest melee Heroes in Gigantic. Wielding twin spears, he is capable of dealing enormous damage at frightening speeds. Although he can withstand punishment, his status as a Bruiser means that he is still vulnerable when being focused. Despite that, if he’s supported by his team and left unchecked, he can quickly cut down the opposition.

What’s particularly interesting about Lord Knossos is that he has some ranged poke potential thanks to Chuck, and this allows him to buy his time before he engages. If things do go wrong in a fight, he’s also more than capable of escaping quickly thanks to Bullrush providing some much needed movement speed.

As with any melee Hero, it’s important to not only judge when to engage, but to also flank the opposition. Your role is to kill high value targets quickly, before getting out.

Skills

This section of our guide contains a list of Lord Knossos skills, what they do, which upgrades you should choose (and when).

Skewer (LMB) - As your basic melee attack chain and with three stages, Skewer deals a considerable amount of damage in a very short space of time. When upgraded it can deal significantly more damage as it allows Lord Knossos to apply Bleed stacks, which ramp up his damage significantly. It's worth noting that to truly get the most out of Skewer, you should ensure you can land all blows across his chain as often as possible. Whether this is through knocking a player down with

Chuck (RMB) - As Lord Knossos' only ranged attack, Chuck deals a surprisingly high amount of damage. It droops in flight similar to Voden's arrows, so it takes a little bit of practice to pefect your aim. It has a very short cooldown, so can be used repeatedly before you engage. It's also worth noting that by default, Chuck cannot be "armed", and is instead fired the moment you press the right mouse button. Only when you choose his upgrade paths do you get the opportunity to hold your throw, before releasing. If you can, try to regularly poke with Chuck before flanking and engaging in melee range.

Gore (Q) - As your primary tool for engaging, and your only form of crowd control, Gore allows Lord Knossos to charge and interrupt a single target. The range on it is tiny (it's effectively a point-blank skill), but it does allow you to use Skewer with ease. When you've trigged the use of Gore, you can't move your positioning so be sure to aim well.

Bull Rush (E) Providing Lord Knossos with instant movement speed, Bull Rush is a key component of your kit. Although it's amazing at engaging enemies, it's even better when escaping. If you can, try to save it for when you need to leave and instead, sprint up to enemies to ensure you've a gaurenteed means of escape when you need it.

Labyrinth (F) - Labyrinth allows Lord Knossos to interrupt, Bleed and Crack the armor of all those caught in it. It pretty much allows you to lock down a specific location, and permit you and your team to deal huge damage. Using it alongside support Heroes, or if you have a Margrave with you, can ensure anyone caught is likely to die. Ideally you want to ensure you use Labyrinth within confined spaces for maximum damage.

Threat

This section of our guide contains a list of tactics for fighting against other Hero's with Lord Knossos. Please note that only the Heroes that are the highest risk and threat to Lord Knossos are included in this list.

Charnok is only a challenge if he stays at range, if you catch him out of position there's very little he can do to survive besides Detonate away. Even if he does, use Bull Rush to get to him followed by Gore. Just be aware that Charnok is capable of dealing huge damage.

Threat: 7/10

The Margrave is tough to fight against for Lord Knossos because his crowd control and interrupts make it difficult for you to really get your attacks off. If he has his Focus, you're also in trouble. In all honesty, I'd try to avoid him 1 on 1 because it's time consuming and too risky.

Threat: 8/10

Uncle Sven is a slippery old man for Lord Knossos because he can usually escape by super jumping to upper platforms. If he has no means of doing this, he's really easy to kill but it takes time if he drops his heal mid way through the fight. Just be very aware of his armor break on his RMB, avoid the acid puddle once he has used it and try to duke his fire fields (if he has taken such a build). A single Gore > Chuck combination can really cause him problems.

Threat: 6/10

Voden is tricky for Lord Knossos because his Green Man decoy swap means he'll be well away the moment you arrive at him. If his decoy is on cooldown, he'll use Hidden Spring to slow you and he'll try to sprint away. Just use Chuck to keep him pinned, followed by Gore. Just keep Bull Rush ready for when he does swap places with his decoy.

Threat: 6/10

Wu, as always, is a nuisance but he's also incredibly squishy at the same time. Even if he does Tongue Lash you and proceed to break your armor/stun you, you can easily retaliate with Gore > Chuck > Skewer. Better still, if you have your Focus and he's already used Tongue Lash he's going to take a serious amount of damage.

Threat: 7/10

Xenobia is annoying for Lord Knossos because if she has a full stamina bar, she can comfortably immobilize you, cause major burning and break your armor. If she's taken Recurring Sorrow she's also harder to pin down. Fortunately, Bull Rush > Chuck is usually enough to cause her major problems. Just be sure to dodge her immobilize (it has a clear animation where she lifts her arms).

Threat: 7/10

Tips

This section of our guide contains a list of tips and tricks we think will help your Lord Knossos play. We'll continue to add to the list as required and if you have any tips you'd like to share, let us know in the comments below and we'll place them here.

1. Bull Rush is amazing for engaging enemies, especially when talented, but remember that it's your most valuable means of escape.

2. Before you upgrade Chuck to Cripple foes, it does good single target damage and allows you to poke fairly easy during early game.

3. Your strongest attack combo is Gore > Labyrinth > Skewer. Landing it all is tricky, but more than possible with practice.

4. Always try to land your full attack chain with Skewer on an enemy. As long as you stay near them, or use Chuck and its Cripple, it's super easy.

5. Try to attack squishy targets over those who have more survivability (Uncle Sven/The Margrave) as you'll be much more effective at bringing them down quickly.

6. If you have Uncle Sven or Vadasi on your team, try to capitalize on this as it significantly improves your survivability.

7. Lord Knossos is great for quickly killing Creatures on Control Points thanks to his damage - make use of it.

8. Killing Creatures triggers your Dominator talent. Try to utilise this as often as possible.
