If you haven't played SWTOR in awhile then there is probably don't know a lot about Update 3.2: Rise of the Emperor. This year so far there have been two updates, 3.1 Conflict of Rishi back in Feburary which added some hard mode flashpoints and started PvP season 4 and then update 3.1 Rise of the Emperor which just released, kicking off PvP season 5 and adding new content and quality of life improvements. If you haven't played in a long, long time you'll need the Shadow of Revan expansion pack to enjoy the RotE content, before we even get to talk about anything anywhere.

If you want super detailed what's new, here are the patch notes, which I suggest reading for the class changes, while most of them are minor, it's important to know what's changed specifically with your class.

Planet Ziost

Anyway, the 3.2 update adds the planet of Ziost, a level 60 planet with quests and cool new things for you to do. Ziost has a ton of cool content, including updated (just very recently) with new daily quests, new world boss, and it already has a ton of cool daily quests and other things.

If you're just returning and you finished Shadow of Revan, than this is where you'd want to start. Take your ship and fly on off to Ziost to start exploring it today.

Outfit Designer

When you login, if you open your character window you'll see something kind of interesting - an outfit designer! The outfit designer lets you take gear that you don't specifically want to wear for the stats, but you want the look of, and let you equip it but not wear it. You can save up to 16 outfits, but you only get one slot before you have to expand.

I think, though, that for most one slot is plenty enough to make your character look the way you want it to look.

PvP Season Change

Season 4 has ended and Season 5 has began. If you're into PvP, right now is the best time to get started and start working on getting your name high in the rankings.

Timed Event - Relics of Gree / Bounty Contract Week

May 12 to May 19th the Relics of Gree Event will return. If you haven't done it before, you start on Ilum and farm reputation through various quests to get some pretty cool pets and gear. This is actually kind of important now because you can use the weapons and such in your costume.

May 19th until May 26th there is the Bounty Contract Week which spawns missions on the space map for you to tackle, rewarding achievements and loot. This is available for all players above level 15, although you'll need to be higher level for some of the targets on some of the planets.

Random Changes

Taxi paths opened up for everyone, this is part of a process where Bioware has constantly played around with making taxi paths more and more open, so you don't have to walk from one area to the other. A lot of cooldowns have been reduced for quality of life skills like Emergency Fleet Pass, which is down to just 90 minutes for subscribers and preferred players and 180 minutes for Free-to-Play.

Group finder for operations has been changed to allow 8 players, in addition, level 55 operations are now available to level 60 players. On top of that, rewards have been changed so 8 player story mode bosses drop just 4 basic commendations, while 16 player story mode drops 4 basic commendations and 2 elite commendations. Making going with 8 in group finder less rewarding, but much easier to get a group together.

Lots of other quality of life changes, like class missions give 8 basic commendations now instead of just a few.

Class Changes

As always, rebalancing occurred, too much to list but a lot of buffs and some sideway nerf buffs like Scatter Bombs now deal way less damage, but all 5 bombs can hit one person, making it way more useful.

That's pretty much everything to get you up to date with Patch 3.2, Rise of the Emperor. If you haven't played in awhile, now is the time to hop in as everyone consumes all of the new content, otherwise check out the game - it's a ton of fun and best of all free-to-play.
