World of Warcraft Patch 6.0.2 New Stats!
The release of the World of Warcraft Patch 6.0.2 brings with it all of the stat changes for the Warlords of Draenor expansion. There are several important changes that are taking place regarding stats which include the stat squish (lowering overall number values), stat removal (several stats are being taken out of the game), and stat addition (several new stats are being added into the game). While all are important, this guide looks only at the last part, the new stats that are being added.
Let’s start by looking at the new character screen to see what is there. Here is an example screen showing a Warlock.
The new stats show up in the Enhancements section and are: Multistrike, Leech, Versatility, and Avoidance. All are interesting new additions to the game that can make a profound effect on the way your character interacts with friends and enemies around them.
This enhancement stat allows your attacks and healing abilities to activate up to two additional times at 30% effect of the first. In PVP multistrike can still activate, but will only ever trigger a single bonus effect.
The number of bonus strikes that are applied is determined on each attack by checking the multistrike chance two separate times. So you may not get any extra hits, a single extra, or two extra hits. Hits caused by multistrike will not cause new multistrike hits. This means if you damage or heal a target for 1000 points, you may end up doing 1000, 1300, or 1600!
This enhancement looks to be extremely useful for all class specs. It will of course be useful for DPS, but also for healers since it can provide bonus healing, and even for Tanks since extra damage is extra threat.
This enhancement is a little simpler to understand than multistrike as it is a straight percentage of damage or healing that you to returned to you as self healing all the time.
This means that if you have 1% Leech and deal 1000 damage or heal someone for 1000 health, you would heal 10 health for yourself.
This is a decent stat for any player, but an exceptionally strong stat for Tanks since they take constant damage over time anyway. While the incoming healing will not be huge, it will help steadily over time. Since it is a flat % to everything though, it seems a little plain to me.
This new enhancement stat provides several things to players all at once. It provides an increase to the damage and healing that you do as well as reducing the damage you receive.
If you have 10% versatility it will boost damage, healing, and shield effects by this amount. The damage reduction provided from this enhancement is only half of the value, so in this case you would take 5% less damage from all sources.
Being a straight percentage increase to damage, healing, and damage resistance, this stat is amazing for everyone. However since it is a straight value, as with Leech it seems like a little bit of a plain stat to me. While useful, it simply needs to be stacked and is good for everyone. Depending on the amount of it that you can find in the game, it may be one of the best stats out there. Which is a little boring.
This new enhancement stat is similar to several pet class abilities that have existed before. It reduces the amount of damage you take from AOE effects by the amount of Avoidance that you have.
This could be a useful stat for almost any spec or class, especially for raid players where there tends to be a lot of AOE effects. While it is unlikely to be able to be stacked high enough to completely ignore AOE, any damage avoided is damage that your healer does not have to worry about.
