One thing that is always useful to have in an MMORPG is something for guilds to do. As it happens, that is the focus of the new guild missions for Guild Wars 2 coming with the February update.
ArenaNet Content Designer Leah Rivera pinned a new blog today to shed more light on the new feature and what players can expect to be headed their way with next weeks update. While ArenaNet plans to expand on the feature in the future, the guild mission system will launch with five flavors of missions unlockable through the guild tech tree: Guild Bounty, Guild Challenge, Guild Rush, Guild Puzzle, and Guild Trek. Rivera warns that the missions are geared for groups, so make sure you bring some help before setting one off.
Completing the missions will earn players of that guild new Guild Merit currency that can be used to unlock new guild upgrades through the expanded unlock system such as banner combos, reduced waypoint costs, and new missions.
Guild Wars 2's Flame & Frost: The Gathering update is scheduled to launch on Tuesday, February 26th. You can read more about the guild mission feature in Riveras full blog. Check out the video below for a peek at the new system.
