Guild Wars 2 MMO News, Guides, and Features at Ten Ton Hammer

Evolving story has always been a big part of the Guild Wars 2 design philosophy. Everything from personal story to world story is a part of the gaming experience in GW2 and this week Narrative Designer Angel McCoy has posted a new blog that explains more about what’s in store for GW2 through its living story. Through the living story, ArenaNet will be releasing new themed story arcs featuring new characters and sometimes world-changing story events.

Last week marked the launch Flame & Frost: Prelude, which contains some living story teaser content that begins to make small changes to Tyria by way of new quests and refugees in the Wayfarer Foothills and Diessa Plateau. Parts of the story such as this will only be available to players for a limited time before certain elements or characters force a change in the story. The devs are even introducing a new achievements section for living story so that you can keep a check on your accolades and find new story elements as they are added to the game.

If you’re looking for the latest in living story events, you need look no further than the heralds that have been added to each city. The NPCs will be stationed at two locations within each city to keep players informed on the latest living story events in Tyria.
