I wanted to sign up for the beta and clicked "send" from the pc spec page (first step) after a scan of my system was ran, I then waited to be "redirected" but nothing happend ? i tried twice, still nothing, does anyone have any ideas ? i really want too play GW2 beta !!!!
just a quick update on my last post, i tried the sign up process again today and it worked!! Crossing my fingers now !!! :D
I too am having difficulty. I downloaded the device they use to apparently take your DXDIAG specs (Why they couldn't just allow me to upload my own DXDIAG.txt, I don't know) and it picked up my specs "reasonably" well, then when I click "next" it tells me that the specs couldn't be uploaded because of a "network issue", and basically forces me to close the application. Several times, several PCs, same issue. Unless it requires some utterly arcane ports that need to be fully open manually on my router, I don't understand the issue. I'm glad to see others are having the problem as well, in a way.
Does anyone know a contact email we can send our grievances to, that the GW2 team will actually be able to read? I'm afraid sending it to generic NCSoft addresses or whatnot will mean our mail will sit in a queue and receive an unfortunate form letter.
I had the same network issue, I restarted my computer and modem on my network and it solved it.
It appears they had an issue with the scanner yesterday (likely from all the people trying to sign up at once) according to Twitter. If you had a problem I recommend giving it another go today. I'll update the original story with any new details if I find them.
Thanks to all who replied with their experiences! I was lucky enough to run the Scannertron again today and not run into the network issue, allowing me to complete my application! I do wish that any server-side troubles that ArenaNet was having would have been posted on their GuildWars2 webpage as soon as they were noticed, especially with such a time-limited signup availability. Happy to have finally signed up and hope that my years of enjoyment in original GuildWars (all expansions etc...) will allow me a crack at GW2 beta!
