Riot Games has revealed some new numbers about their competitive online League of Legends title. The game now boasts to have more than 30 million registered players worldwide and over 11 million active players, more than double the amount since their last update in July. Today’s press release also contains some other numbers stating that more than 4.5 million players log on to the game each day and that the peak concurrent user concurrency has reached more than 1.3 million.

League of Legends has become increasingly more popular due to its competitive gameplay and Riot Games is preparing to launch Season Two with a prize pool of over $5 million in prizes, which has its own allure to players.

Riot Games has also posted a new chart on the League of Legends website that offers an in-depth look at some of the statistics relating to the huge number of players.

Over Four Million People Play League of Legends Every Day with Over 30 Million Registered Players

LOS ANGELES – 18th November, 2011 – Riot Games today announced that over four million people play League of Legends every day – an increase of 280% since Riot last announced the size of its community in July 2011. With 11.5 million monthly active players, peak concurrency reaching 1.3 million, and a registered player base of over 30 million worldwide, League of Legends is about to enter its second competitive season as one of the top five PC games in North America and Europe.

Set to begin in the very near future, League of Legends: Season Two will feature a five million dollar prize pool – the largest in eSports history – culminating in a global $2 million tournament where Riot will crown the best League of Legends team in the world. Players can look forward to comprehensive coverage of the eSports scene, game features like spectator mode and ranked teams, and a competitive structure that encourages talented players to team up and compete.
