TOWNS AND QUEST HUBS
These are the towns, camps and other assorted places where
players can pick up quests. Level range describes the optimum level
range for XP gain. Important NPCs are those who bestow quest chains or
are crucial to the epic storyline, with position coordinates listed if
located outside the main hub. Description is a broad guideline of what
to expect from each quest hub without going into too specific of detail.
The level range for all quest hubs in Enedwaith is 65.
alt="Echad Dagoras"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/100743">
It
wouldn't be a ranger camp if it had a solid roof.
ECHAD DAGORAS
Important NPCs: Dagoras,
Braigiar, Amarion, Lothrandir
Town Services:
- Mailbox
- Milestone
- Healer
- Provisioner
- Forge-master and Relic-master
- Campfire
- Grey Company Rewards Vendor
- Legendary Vendor
- Stable-master (All stables in Enedwaith, Echad Mirobel,
Echad Dunnan)
Description: An elven ruin
overlooking the valleys
of Fordirith serves as a staging point for the Grey Company, the
operations of this camp overseen by the ranger Dagoras. When players
first arrive at this camp, not all of the important NPCs are present -
some of them require rescuing from the various foes around the camp.
Dagoras and Amarion have daily repeatable quests for Grey Company rep.
alt="Gavar Cadlus"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/100744">
Despite
how it looks, that's not a cowboy-pirate flag.
GAVAR CADLUS, UCH CADLUS
Important NPCs: Iuan, Grufudh,
Rhiain (Gavar Cadlus), Davudh, Alun, Wunne (Uch Cadlus)
Town Services:
- Campfire (one at each)
Description: The farms of herders
in Windfells.
Gavar Cadlus is tucked up in the rocks and tends goats, and Uch Cadlus
is down by the bridge and has a herd of oxen under constant attack by
wolves and Cun Annun (barghests). These camps offer daily repeatables
for Algraig rep.
alt="Echad Saeradan"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/100745">
To
lift worker morale, Saeradan instituted "Dress Like A Ninja Day."
ECHAD SAERADAN
Important NPCs: Saeradan,
Andreg, Amlan
Town Services:
- Quartermaster
- Campfire
Description: Saeradan's small
camp is situated on a
bluff near the ox herd of Uch Cadlus. Saeradan and his men are
concerned about the well-being of the Dunlendings, and seek to build
better relations with them through diplomacy and trade. There are daily
repeatable quests here for Algraig and Grey Company rep. Andreg will
offer a choice between 2 quests during his chain - selecting one will
gain Grey Company standing, and the other will gain Algraig standing.
Whichever path you first choose is the one that will later become a
repeatable, so choose carefully.
alt="Lhanuch"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/100746">
This
is where Evil Smurf lives.
LHANUCH
Important NPCs: Glynn Brenin,
Guladus Brehures,
Siorus Brehur, Neirin Brehur, Penlhun Brehur, Dufrig (The Brenin's
Hall), several phased NPCs.
Town Services:
- Supplier
- Provisioner
- Mailbox
- Milestone
- Healer
- Weaponsmith (with basic level 45 weapons)
- Superior crafting facilities and Expert vendors
- Master of Crafting Guilds
- Vault-keeper
- Forge-master and Relic-master
- Legendary Vendor
- Algraig Rewards Vendor
- Stable-master (all stables in Enedwaith, Rivendell, South
Bree, Inner Caras Galadhon)
Description: The major social hub
of the Dunlending
tribes. The men of Enedwaith meet here to discuss the promises of
Saruman, and to determine whether they are genuine and will help the
Algraig in the long run, or whether they are empty and threaten the
tribes' survival. The Algraig are torn between Saurman's promises and
those of the Grey Company, who do not promise wealth and power but
struggle and hardship for the greater good of all. Many of the
important epic-line NPCs are phased - they appear during their parts of
the books, but are not available at other times. There are repeatable
quests for Algraig reputation in the Brenin's Hall.
alt="Maur Tulhau"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/100747">
Cue
"Dueling Banjos," and go scrape up that pig crap. You're in Stoor
country now.
MAUR TULHAU
Important NPCs: Rhus Cornchuthur,
Caradog Henbuch, Iolo Brochtu, Rhosun Turio, Violed Isbrun, Iago
Glennudh
Town Services:
- Milestone
- Mailbox
- Provisioner
- Healer
- Forge-master and Relic-master
- Stable-master (Suri-kyla swift travel only; requires
completing "The Frozen War" from Vamma in Suri-kyla)
Description: Alright, imagine
this scenario: you're
a conquering hero. You've bested villains that, through the sheer
terror of their presence, cause lesser men to literally die of fear.
You've purged the black depths of the mountains of great and ancient
evils. You bear weapons of legendary quality, and the name of your
sword is spoken in frightened whispers among your many foes. You have
rubbed shoulders with and fought alongside the most powerful men in the
world, and these men heed your council. Your name is legend, your deeds
are known by all who meet you. Then you meet a pint-sized hirsute
hillbilly who asks you to go gather up pig crap for his flower gardens.
More than once.
Welcome to Maur Tulhau.
Quests out of this
backwater Stoor village offer no rep with either of the area's
factions, but they do earn barter tokens and item XP. And there are 4
deeds in Enedwaith associated with these hairy rustic Hobbits - one of
which, seriously, involves repeated collection of pig crap and flowers
in exchange for a... unique yard item.
alt="Echad Idhrenfair"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/100748">
They're
just far enough away that they can't hear the banjo music or smell the
marigold gardens.
ECHAD IDHRENFAIR
Important NPCs: Idhrenfair,
Prestadir, Himeinior
Town Services:
- Campfire
- Mustering Horn
Description: A ranger camp
overlooking the grassy
canyons of the Gloomglens. They avoid the Stoors of Maur Tulhau -
probably because they don't want to get asked to pick up pig crap - but
do concern themselves with the other goings-on in the Gloomglens.
alt="Echad Daervunn"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/100749">
The
mailbox is here to support Daervunn's manic letter-writing campaign to
the Grey Company, requesting reassignment.
ECHAD DAERVUNN
Important NPCs: Daervunn, Ferrif
Town Services:
- Mailbox
- Campsite
- Mustering Horn
- Quartermaster
- Stable-master (all stables in Enedwaith)
Description: A surprisingly
well-appointed 2-man
camp at the north end of the Mournshaws. The stewing anger of the
region is a matter of concern for these rangers. Also the proliferation
of trolls.
alt="Harndirion"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/100750">
The
Numenoreans cut down all the trees in Enedwaith for timber, but then
built all their best stuff out of stone.
HARNDIRION
Important NPCs: Celenath,
Arnfinnur
Town Services:
- Milestone
- Mailbox
- Mustering Horn
- Bard
- Campfire
- Quartermaster
- Grey Company Rewards Vendor
- Legendary Vendor
- All class trainers
- Barterers for Ost Dunhoth/Medallions of the North Men tokens
- Skirmish camp
- Stable-master (All stables in Enedwaith)
Description: A ranger camp
established on the site
of monumental Numenorean ruins as a central staging point for
operations in Enedwaith. There is one repeatable Ost
Dunhoth quest
here from Arnfinnur, which offers no rep for either faction but does
offer Medallions of the North-men.
alt="Nar's Peak"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/100751">
You'd
have to be crazy to want to live up here. Suits Nar just fine.
NAR'S PEAK
Important NPCs: Corunir,
Frithgeir, Nar
Town Services:
- Mustering Horn
- Campfire
- Milestone
Description: When Dwarves build
libraries, they
evidently stick with one unifying library plan - this place has the
same layout as the Library of Steel in Moria. The denizens of the
library play important roles in Volume 3 epic books. Poor old Nar has
seen better days - they were a long time ago, but they were
surely
better because he was much less senile back then. Frithgeir has a bunch
of daily repeatable quests for Gold Tokens of the Wild (but no rep).
alt="Gronu" src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/100752">
He's
recovering from a pulled muscle in his Gronu.
MISCELLANEOUS
Important NPCs: Gronu (67.4S,
13.9W), Mincham (70.6S, 15.5W), Galasebdir, Areneth (72.8S, 14.7W)
Town Services:
- Healer (Galasebdir)
- Provisioner (Areneth)
- Campfire (Galasebdir's camp, Gronu)
- Mustering horn (Galasebdir's camp)
- Milestone (Galasebdir's camp)
Description: Galasebdir, Areneth
and Mincham have a
number of quests in the Lich Bluffs dealing with the undead. Gronu has
a number of quests dealign with the hostile Dunlendings in Thror's
Coomb, and has repeatable daily quests for Algraig rep.
