INTRODUCTION

A lonesome stretch of land between Bree-land in the west and
the
Trollshaws in the east, the Lone-lands are a harsh, scrubland
wilderness populated by equally hard people. The few settlements here
are built on the remains of old ruins, and even the Forsaken Inn at the
western edge of the Lone-lands has seen better days.

The region is bisected by the same road that runs all the way
from south Bree-town to the Ford of Bruinen, skirting past the Forsaken
Inn, Weathertop and Ost Guruth until it meets the Last Bridge, which
crosses the river that defines the eastern edge of the region. The
region gets progressively tougher the further east one goes; the mobs
around the Forsaken Inn and Minas Eriol are only slightly stronger than
those found in Bree-land, and the Corcurs and wights inhabting Garth
Agarwen in the far northeast are much higher-level.
