PvMP AS A BURGLAR

style="border: 0px solid ; width: 240px; height: 362px; float: left;"
alt="Burglar vs Warg Stalker"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/91041">

Burglars
and Warg Stalkers are natural enemies. Even when the warg is a kinmate
of the Burglar freepside.

There are few things that Creeps hate more than Burglars in
the Ettenmoors. In PvP battles, they are incredibly hard to kill - the
relatively short durations of the battles and the long pauses between
one skirmish and the next gives the Burglar lots of time to use and
recharge all of his dirty tricks, and they seldom give up the same easy
Infamy as Hunters and other squishy classes. And Burglars have a way of
showing up where they are least suspected... and then disappearing
should the fight turns against them.

Stealth is one of the ultimate tools in the Burglar's PvMP
arsenal. Much like the Warg Stalker, the Burglar can follow groups of
enemies at his leisure, pick off the unfortunate few who straggle
behind, kill them swiftly and then vanish before anyone else realizes
they were ever there. Wargs in particular hate Burglars - they cannot
Pounce them, because the stun enables the Burglar to use Find Footing,
which provides an instant, big self-heal and boosts the Burglar's Evade
rating by 50%. Should the Burglar activate Touch and Go after using
Find Footing, he can evade 100% of incoming attacks for a few terrible
seconds, laying the smack down on his opponent without fear of injury.
And if the fight looks like it will be more dangerous than it's worth,
the Burglar can use Hide in Plain Sight and bail.

Many PvMP-spec Burglars are heavily-traited in the Quiet Knife
line, which increases their stealth level and makes their stealth and
positional attacks more powerful. Long mezzes with the Perplexing
Riddle trait also help, but Creeps are more likely to have and use
anti-stun potions than AI-controlled mobs are, and Riddles should be
viewed more as a kind of interrupt than as effective crowd-control.

Weavers and Uruk Blackarrows tend to pose the biggest threat
to Burglars, as these classes can apply a mass of bleeds and
damage-over-time effects in a very short period. If these are not
handled quickly with wound and poison potions, the DOT-ed Burglar could
be in some pretty serious trouble. The stealth from Hide in Plain Sight
can be broken after 10 seconds by a lingering damage-over-time effect,
depriving the Burglar of one of his most potent getaway tools if he is
suffering from a Blackarrow's burning arrow or a Weaver's poison.

Like most other classes, the way the Burglar survives fights
against Creeps is to keep moving. Even with big evade buffs and with
enemy mobs stacked with gambles and tricks, standing still for any
length of time practically invites that one lucky shot. The Burglar
will want to try to manoeuver around behind his opponent for positional
damage and to break line-of-sight on inductions, and to try to outrace
his opponent's twitch-response time.

With the implementation of Volume 3 Book 2, conjunctions no
longer work against player-controlled characters, including Creeps.
Using Exploit Opening or Trip against a Creep will stun him, but it
will not open up a fellowship manouever. Conversely, conjunction stuns
from the Warg's Tendon Shred will no longer trigger warband manouevers,
but will apply a brief stun to the recipient. Again, these skills work
fine as interrupts but cannot be counted on as reliable crowd-control,
or as a means to restore power or morale like they can be in PvE.
