LOTRO: Helm’s Deep Downtime Announcement

Helm’s Deep suffered a slight delay in its release this week, but Turbine is prepped to launch the expansion tomorrow.

A data center power outage over the weekend couldnÂ’t have come at a worse time for Turbine. The Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) developer was set to launch its HelmÂ’s Deep expansion yesterday, but complications from the outage and additional downtime led to a slight delay of the expansionÂ’s launch to ensure a smooth rollout of the new content. Luckily for LOTRO fans, itÂ’s a short wait.

LOTRO servers are scheduled to go down at 6AM ET on Wednesday, November 20th, 2013 for the deployment of the HelmÂ’s Deep expansion update. No expected downtime was given.

On Wednesday November 20th, all LOTRO Game worlds will be brought down at 6:00 AM Eastern time (-5 GMT) to prepare for the release of HelmÂ’s Deep. The LOTRO Store will be taken down at 5:00AM Eastern (-5GMT).

Release Notes will be made available during the downtime.

In the meantime, you can read our hands-on preview with the devs or indulge in a bit of the Grumpy GamerÂ’s take on egregious dwarven and elvish archetypes.
