Neverwinter Developer Blog: The Foundry

Posted Mon, Sep 24, 2012 by Martuk

Cryptic Studios is hoping that player-created content will be a big part of their upcoming Neverwinter MMORPG. In an effort to help facilitate that, the game will integrate The Foundry, a player authoring system that will provide the tools necessary to create custom content and quests. Star Trek Online currently has a similar system available for players to craft custom content, but for those less familiar with The Foundry, Cryptic’s latest developer blog provides plenty of information about the feature.

“Using The Foundry editor, you’ll be able to create your own maps, and set the adventures that take place within them. More importantly, you’ll be able to do this right away, with very little experience with the tools.  Whether you want a simple delivery type quest, or intend to create your very own, with multiple hand created maps, a plethora of customized NPCs, pages of dialog, and a truly epic story, you can. Everything you need is right at your fingertips.”
