FFXIV releases a weekly report on the amount of bans going on in the game for RMT as part of their promise to subscribers to keep the illict market out of their game. The interesting news is that at the start of the year there was anywhere around 5k plus, even extending to the previous week with around 4k banned. This week the banhammer softened a bit, only hitting 3,137 accounts, showing that at least ot me the recent week banwaves have been working well. You can see the stats for today's banwave here.

As you can see from the data above, bans were getting rather high at the start of last month, but they're getting fewer and fewer as we move into this month. FFXIV has been banning players weekly and publishing statistics, but I think it's interesting that the number of bans is decreasing. Does this have anything to do with activity (especially around the Golden Saucer) or are they getting better and causing fear?

I think personally it shows how the Golden Saucer really got players interested in the game again which got the uptick flowing, but that's just my opinion. What is yours?
