Here's your weekly dose of rapid-fire news happening throughout the gaming universe. A lot of stuff is happening this week: get get some teasers from games we're familiar with, see success from a game we've heard about and get introduced to a completely new game – and that's just the tip of the iceberg! Since I wouldn't want to spoil all of this week's tidbits, that's all I'll say before diving into this week in newsies.

First up, is Guild Wars 2 and their teaser trailer for Season 2 Episode 3, The Dragon's Reach: Part 1. I wrote about this already on Tuesday, but just in case you didn't scroll down to the video area on our front page, here it is again. Spoiler alert: dragons. I'm kinda into them.

Ironfell is a super-multiplatform MMORTS that is available for browsers, OSX, Windows and Android. Unless you're still using IE6, you'll be able to play it everywhere you go. The one-man indie studio behind Ironfell has released its newest expansion, Alliances, which will allow players to team up for strategic control over goods in the world, or to take over what others have conquered.

Jeremy Snead, the man behind Video Games: The Movie, announced in a press release earlier this week that he will be at San Diego ComiCon to present the movie, as well as conduct a Q&A session afterwards. Video Games: The Movie is a documentary that looks at the history of video games, from its humble beginnings as something seen as only a hobby for nerds, to a world-wide, multi-billion dollar industry for everyone. Watch Zach Braff talk about video games in a documentary he wears the Executive Producer hat for:

Dieselpunk singleplayer and co-op game InSomnia was successfully funded, I learned today through a presser. Studio MONO, the Russian development team behind the game sent out a thank you to let everyone know of the success. InSomnia is a creepy game where you wake up on a huge space station. At first, it seems abandoned, until you run into others like yourself. There's a lot of cool co-op possibilities here, so I wonder what that mode will be like.

CD Projekt RED announced that they're on a new hunt for The Witcher 3, by way of cosplay contest. Anyone interested in entering can visit the Cosplay page at The Witcher's site, knowing that their talents could possibly earn them some really rad stuff beyond just knowing they can throw a on a great costume and assume a role beyond their own selves:

With all-star professional cosplayers invited to help pick the winners, the studio is offering the victor $1000, custom Witcher jewelry, and a unique chance to fly all over the world with Team RED and cosplay at the gaming industry’s biggest events, all expenses paid.

Neverwinter released their new Dragonborn pack, which is currently on sale through the Arc store. This pack introduces the Dragonborn as a playable race. Anyone with the pack will have the race unlocked for their account. Players will also receive a one-time only race change token, in case they have an existing character they want to turn into a dragonborn. The pack also includes several fashion sets, an artifact that will let you breathe fire to be more dragony, a ring that will grow up with you, several enchantments, a 30-slot bag, and an additional character slot.

Vendolyn's been playing MMOs since 1999, although Vendolyn in-game often becomes a long-term shelved alt. When she's not gaming, she's likely marathoning some questionable TV show or babbling about music to no end. She really likes goats.
