An oasis of calm in the middle of the glorious turmoil that is EVE FanFest, the "Live Visions" session, Lead Artist / Illustrator Börkur Eiríksson created a piece of EVE Online concept art before our eyes, describing his style and interjecting some humor along the way. Eiriksson, a classically trained artist, first studied his craft in Rotterdam prior to joining CCP in 2004.

While such a piece would normally take anywhere from an afternoon to a few days, Eiriksson was able to turn out a breathtaking piece in the space of an hour. And through the magic of the Internet, we're able to bring you the development of the piece in about 2 minutes. With apologies for the lighting on several of the shots, relax and enjoy. Feel free to pull up a museum bench and sketch, too.

In case you didn't catch it, Eiriksson's website is located at http://www.borkurart.com.
