It's been the complete opposite of an extremely busy week for Tabula Rasa soldiers, and the AFS has taken things slow for the Holiday Observance, but there is just enough news and events to report and keep you informed. Here are the highlights over the holiday week and what you need to know!

CuppaJo Interview - The Tabula Rasa Community Team has been pretty quiet the past few weeks taking some time off to recuperate. The silence was broken this week with Ten Ton Hammer's interview of Community Manager April "CuppaJo" Burba. Cody "Micajah" Bye and I had the opportunity to sit down and ask her some questions regarding the state of the game and what they were working on. One of the more interesting quotes we saw from her was:

"In fact, we're gradually moving towards a regular content release schedule that might be a bit more ambitious than what you've seen in other NCsoft titles. We'll have the big releases similar to what players have seen with the Issues in CoH/CoV, but we also want to get regular content to those people that have been in the game a long time and give them the sort of continuous experience that they want to enjoy."

Poor CuppaJo...setting expectations already. Don't you know how rabid we can be about content?

Tabula Rasa: The War in 2008 - The game did just launch a few short months ago, I know. I examined a number of opportunities the development team has and where I think they'll be focusing their time. Players vs Player and high end content are just a few of the topics discussed in the article, and I was pretty blunt about where I thought some changes could be made.

If you are looking for something that bashes the game, this isn't for you. If you are looking for ideas on where you'll see the Devs working in 2008, this might be up your alley.

Childs Play Auction Ends - If you aren't familiar with Child's Play, it is an organization started by Penny Arcade to provide toys to children's hospitals all over the country. Many of us have been involved for a few years now, but corporations are now stepping into the ring and soliciting huge donations. NCsoft followed suit this year by auctioning off a few signed copies of Tabula Rasa and the ability to name an NPC in game.

Double Your Pleasure...

They reported this week that $4,962.65 was raised for this great organization. Hats off to them for caring enough to donate of their time and resources for a good cause.

Thegamereviews.com Reviews TR - We've seen a crapton of reviews over the past month or so, all of which have had a wide range of responses to the game. They've also showed a level of understanding in the reviewers, some playing the game quite extensively, and others playing for a few short hours. The second group was lackluster and is dragging the industry down, but that is a story for another time kids.

The review made me happy in that it covered Tabula Rasa is a breakaway from the traditional MMO game and attempting to reach new grounds. The also covered the lore aspect of the game which frequently gets glossed over in reviews and TR does have an interesting story to tell. What I didn't like, was the repeated comparisons to World of Warcraft. It's not the only standard used for an MMO, and TR is different enough I think it's really an apples to oranges thing anyway. It's written well enough to look professional, but you won't find any ground breaking information here that you didn't read on the back of your TR box.

Check it out if you'd like.

Holiday Spoof-Along - Our Ten Ton Hammer Holiday Spoof-Along contest ended this week with a few very entertaining entries. While I think mine personally was the best (what? I'm biased) I'm not allowed to really enter. What was the contest? Simple, you just find a holiday themed song and spoof it to Tabula Rasa. The best one will win some free game time to a game fo their choice. Nice huh?

Expect the winner to be announced shortly and head over to the thread to take a look.
