It's always sad to call the expected, but it seems like Pirates of the Caribbean is pulling into port one last time in September before Captain Jack and crew sail off into the wild blue yonder, forever.
September 19th is when the game walks the plank, with free unlimited access (presumably) for everyone as one last good will gesture by our Mickey Mouse Overlords.
Good news for pirates who paid good plunder for the game, refunds will be available including for unused time cards bought at your local pharmacy. Free game access lasts until the servers close, so everyone can enjoy one last rampage through the open seas.
However, this is expected, the game hasn't done that well and hasn't been a very profitable MMO for Disney, so the inevitable server shutdown always follows. It has had a rather long run and if you haven't had a chance to play then now is the perfect time to see what the game is all about before its sunset.
