Jim Lee Joins DC Universe MMO

At every turn it seems like I reveal a little more of my geekiness without being able to stop myself. Anyone who knows me knows that I love DC Comics. Favorite GNs Are Kingdom Come and The Dark Knight Returns. I have other favorites. I'm really stoked that Hal Jordan was brought back etc. etc. and yes.. I LOVE Aquaman. Snicker at me as you will but that won't change my fandom of the man in green tights. He's multi-dimensional.

So, the giants are battling it out. Microsoft has the Marvel rights and SOE now has the DC rights. Sure Marvel is much more popular right now because they've been able to control the quality of their movies as well as a new depth with their books. DC on the other hand has had a really bad bad wrap. With WB owning DC, they haven't had the same choices concerning their properties. All we have to do is look at the last Clooney Batman movie to see that my favorite heroes are in serious trouble.

I was worried when I heard that Sony was taking on the project. Very, very worried. However, all may not be lost! 1Up is reporting that Jim Lee is joining the crew.

Of his new role as Executive Creative Director on the title, Lee said in a phone interview, "I'm guiding the ship to make sure the game feels like the DC universe. I'll be intimately involved for the next several years."

Jim is also a MMO fan. If done correctly, this could be one monster of a game. I'm excited and yet terrified. It's like watching a train wreck. You just can't look away. Announce CABAL Online Free To Play
